Federal Agency An agency of the United States federal government — executive, legislative, or judicial branch. U.S. State or Territory Agency An agency of one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, or a U.S. territory. Tribal Government A federally recognized American Indian or Alaska Native tribal government. County Government A county, parish, or borough government. City Government A city, town, township, or village government. Special District Government An independent special-purpose district, such as a 911 communications district, fire district, or utility authority. Interstate Organization or Compact An organization of two or more states, or an entity created by an interstate compact.
